Blackwood Valley

With over 50 vineyards, covering an area of more than 450 hectares, the picturesque Blackwood Valley Wine Region is located between the Margaret River and the Great Southern Wine Regions in the southwest of Western Australia.

The region includes the historic settlements of Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Balingup and Nannup, set amongst the Tuscan-like rolling hills that rise around the beautiful Blackwood River. These townships have attracted many artisans and musicians and now offer a great diversity of cultural experiences for the visitor.

The first vineyards in the region were established in 1976 and the area is now home to a number of award-winning wine producers and grape growers who supply some of Australia’s finest restaurants. A number of cellar doors in the region are open to the public.

The Blackwood Valley Wine Region offers a unique escape from the well-trodden wine paths, with a culture of country warmth and hospitality.
